The wine tasting with Alexander Loersch was a memorable, detailed introduction to Riesling. I hadn't expected the winemaker himself to spend time on it, since running the same kind of event over and over must get tiring and take up a lot of time. The hosts were exceptionally friendly, and the cheese and meat platter we ordered was very good. The window view was breathtaking, especially with the autumn colors. A clear recommendation.
We loved the phenomenal scenery from both our room and the dining area. Breakfast and the dinner platter were exceptional, and the two bottles of dry white wine were lovely and reasonably priced. The location is great, and my wife and I are already looking forward to coming back.
We emailed to ask about a wine tasting and got a reply right away. Parking is right in front of the house, and Alexander’s mother welcomed us warmly. She showed us the huge patio and the wonderful view, pointing out Leiwen and Trittenheim below. In the tasting room, we tried seven Rieslings and one Rose. She shared a bit about each wine and showed us through the big windows where its vineyards were. It was informative and really enjoyable. We bought many cases, so the 15€/tasting fee was waived. Now I understand why this Riesling has won so many awards, including Riesling Champion of 2024. The whole visit was wonderful, and we can't wait to return.
We came to buy wine, but immediately fell for the place and the view. The family Loersch were so friendly, and we had a great tasting with Mrs Loerch, Alexanders mother. It was a fantastic experience, and we're looking forward to trying the wines we brought home.
The view was fantastic, the wines excellent, and breakfast great. Lovely people running this Guesthaus.
