Stadtpalais

Our room was in the modern part, recently refurbished, roomy and comfortable, with a cosy feel. The bed, big soft pillows and bathroom were all great. It was a quiet street, even on Saturday night, and there is free parking in the lot behind the hotel. The staff were friendly too. The hotel brings old and new together nicely. Its historic façade and dining room have a lovely old-time atmosphere, and it's right in the charming Old Town of Lemgo. One thing to keep in mind is that Lemgo is small, and shops close early. There was no electric vehicle charging, and vegan choices were limited.

Very disappointing, and it felt misleading. The room was so simple for the price. The restaurant was closed, there was no beer garden like the pictures showed, and the TV didn't work. Sorry, but no.

Nice hotel with rooms furnished in an old-fashioned style, and the food was pretty decent too. I stayed in 2019, though, and the circumstances of my stay weren't the best for enjoying the place.

I have mixed feelings about this beautiful hotel and its “ecological philosophy.” For one night in winter, it would be fine. But we stayed four nights in summer during hot weather, and our room had no fridge. We could use the shared one, but it held the hotel's products for sale. There was no air conditioning or ventilation, though the concierge did bring us a small fan. Despite our efforts, we couldn't get the room to cool down. The staff were friendly, which made it a shame that the basic services felt lacking for the price. The parking area was tiny. I also question the hotel's environmental approach: it seemed more about saving money and feeling good than the planet's well-being, especially since the place's commercial vehicle is a polluting old VW combi. The decor was smart, but the philosophy needs reconsidering, or the rates should come down. With the scorching summers we're being told to expect, something needs to change.
