The hosts were really friendly, and the restaurant served delicious local food. My room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was nice too.

Everything went smoothly when we arranged the visit with Mr. Schmidt beforehand. I came to the Garküche restaurant in Leutenberg on February 8, 2026, with a hiking group, and we were welcomed warmly and served a delicious lunch. Service ran like clockwork, and all the hikers were happy. 😉 Thanks so much to the Schmidt family. Best wishes, and hope to see you again soon! Bettina Böttger Single Hiking Thuringia

I was there for lunch, so I can't say anything about the rooms. The portions were generous, and the food and drinks were perfectly fine. Some things seemed fresh, though others appeared to be frozen, Brussels sprouts in June? The staff were friendly, helpful, and chatty. It was tasty and enjoyable.

No reservation needed for lunch. The prices feel fair for what you get, and it suits me well. I'd be happy to come back.
