Hotel Leyscher Hof

The wine garden is a lovely place to sit in summer, right by the Rhine and under the shade of Chestnut trees. They serve delicious, authentic German food with local wines and beer on tap, and the service is friendly. A beautiful spot for lunch or dinner, highly recommended.

The waiters were friendly and chatty, and I really liked the beer garden by the river on a warmish day. They even had a doggy bar for thirsty dogs, ours included. We met friends for a late lunch in mid September on a lovely day, and they had booked an outside table looking over the river Rheine. I had half litre mugs of their refreshing Pils beer, which was far too easy to drink. The menu leaned toward conventional classic German dishes. I chose "Heino's" special, basically a piece of fried pork, then had "Reibkuchen" with apple puree. It was all pretty tasty, though my wife was convinced much of it had come from the freezer. Still, OK.

Thanks Carla for the hospitality. This was one of the cosiest stays of my life, with high class food, smiley faces, and class wines from the village. The wonderful Rheingarten is a lovely place to enjoy the landscape. I think everyone around here should give this place a try.

Right on the Rhein, this historic hotel is in a perfect location. We got a lovely, friendly welcome, and the food and drink were great.
