B&B HOTEL Gießen-Linden

There’s plenty of free parking, and the hotel is clean with good beds. It’s tucked into an industrial area, though close to the main road and McDonald's. B&B took it over recently; it used to be an Ibis, which you can still see in the room layout.

The breakfast was plentiful and exactly what we needed, and the staff, including the Manager / Manageress and their dog, were lovely. The rooms were clean and tidy, and I slept really well. It is a budget Ibis, so you get what you pay for. The location is a bit odd, out in an industrial estate, but it was quiet. I've stayed at Ibis budget places several times, and this one is cheap and cheerful. If you're not fussy, it's perfect.

The woman in the breakfast area was very friendly, but the breakfast itself had few choices, especially for anyone needing gluten-free, lactose-free, or other special options. Our room also smelled strongly of cigarettes, as we'd been given a smokers' room. There was no A/C, and the towels were very thin. The bedsheets were clean, and the night check-in was conveniently automatic, so I could give it another star for those things. It is a clean one-star hotel. We arrived late and couldn't choose between single and double beds. We got two singles, both extremely narrow. The building's sound insulation is terrible too: before 8:00, cleaning staff woke us by knocking on every door, talking loudly, and making lots of noise.

A good, inexpensive option for a road trip, with safe parking.
