Hotel Anker

We were in town visiting relatives and were out all day, so we didn't need much from the hotel. If this had been a holiday, though, it would have been disappointing. There was no one on site during the day, and no way to call for help unless we waited until the adjoining restaurant opened in the evening. The place didn't feel secure with no staff there and everyone depending on key holders to lock up properly. Our small room was adequate for three nights, with a comfortable bed, a chair, and one bedside table. The room and linen were clean. Parking was available while the restaurant wasn't busy. But there were no bedside lamps or switch, just incredibly bright LED lights, and the bathroom had no ventilation so it stayed damp. We ran out of toilet paper and had to take some from a neighboring room that had been left for cleaning. Seeing that room made it clear we could have been offered a more suitable, larger one. There was no breakfast option. We got no service when we arrived, even though the restaurant was in full swing. We weren't expected, so the waiter had to make phone calls before taking us to someone from the kitchen, wearing filthy chef's whites, who handed over a key. One bag was carried reluctantly up two flights of stairs for my elderly mother. We also had to ask for the Wi-Fi code. This place should be called rooms, not a hotel.
