We had to stop here with the baby before the official opening hours, and they kindly let us join the pension guests for breakfast. A good coffee and cappuccino, with snowy fields and mountains all around, made for a lovely little moment. Thank you!

We were out hiking and expected a traditional, home-style restaurant, so the dinner was a very pleasant surprise. It was delicious and beautifully presented, and you can see that the very friendly owners love what they do. Breakfast the next morning was just as tasty and had a lot of choice. If we get the chance, we'll definitely return. Do give it a try, you won't regret it.

The food is really good, and there's great service and excellent value for money. We especially enjoyed the Äbbelwoi Hingelsche, Brennkäs Schnitzel, and stuffed hamburger steak. The award-winning brandies from the Dieter Walz distillery in Seidenbuch/Gloashidde are outstanding too. Gasthaus Bergfriede has a lovely country inn feel, with a green-surrounded beer garden and warm Odenwald hospitality. It's an ideal stop on a motorcycle, convertible, mountain bike, or hiking tour, with 50 Mbps free guest Wi-Fi. The owners make you feel like you're eating at a friend's home. We return regularly and always enjoy it.
