Hotel Apfelbaum

I didn't expect much since, like us, most people seem to be staying here for the nearby thermal bath, but I ended up really enjoying it. The staff were friendly and helpful, and while the rooms have plain furniture, they still felt homey and comfortable. Everything was really clean. Breakfast had plenty of good options, and I especially liked having a vegan selection. I can absolutely recommend the place, even for a longer stay.

The room was basic but modern and clean. The pillows were terrible, though, and looked like they were stuffed with apricot kernels. Time to replace them. The shampoo and shower gel were extremely basic and cheap, in individual plastic sachets, yes, in 2025! The reception hours were very short, and there's no air conditioning. Be warned if you go in summer. I slept in a sauna. All that might have been okay if I hadn't paid 164€ for one night plus de 10€ for breakfast. That's 174€ for this. A scam.

It was nice to have a little kitchen with a refrigerator, drinks, tea and coffee for guests, plus good dishes and glasses. The room had everything we needed, and access to the thermal complex was convenient. We really liked the hotel. Sadly, there's no air conditioning, and with the windows open it was hot and very noisy when we tried to sleep :(

The breakfast was really good, and the therme was conveniently close. Although reception closes at night, check-in was easy with a safe box and code after telling them in advance. There was also a self-serve bar with snacks and drinks. Our cozy room had everything we needed, with a new, stylish, very clean, spacious bathroom. I especially liked having a place to store all our luggage.
