Lippetaler Gästehaus

Clean and nice, with a friendly owner. Nothing else to add, five stars.

Excellent.

I booked an apartment for seven people for one night through Booking about a month and a half in advance, choosing an offer that was refundable up to four days before the visit. Renata sent me a message through Booking saying she would cancel unless I paid the full amount within 10 hours. I live in Poland, so a standard bank transfer to Germany was supposed to take longer than that. I contacted Booking to get the payment deadline extended, but despite having an offer refundable up to four days before departure, I had to pay the full amount a month in advance. I reminded Renate that without the increased price, I would have got a different, better rate. We think these practices are very unfair, and the property doesn’t deserve such a high rating either. The furniture is screwed together, and everything is very basic.

The apartment is very spacious and the house is lovely. A few small things were missing: with the glass tables, coasters would have been useful, and since the hallway and the rest of the apartment are tiled, we could have used a couple of floor wipers. There was a wet mop, but when the weather turns bad and you come in from outside, there’s no way to wipe your feet, whether you enter from the terrace or the front door. These are only minor issues.
