Haus Sonnenschein

There's no reception person around during your stay, and once you've checked in, you can't change the booking dates or get a refund because the money has already been charged. The Wi-Fi barely lets you access the internet. The hotel owner is the only person serving you, and he was rude, unfriendly, and impolite when I checked in. This was the worst experience I've ever had.

We were given a “non-smoking room,” but my wife and I could tell it had been smoked in for a long time. The smell had settled into the carpet and curtains. Even after we asked repeatedly, the hotel ignored the problem, offered no replacement room, and showed no willingness to compromise. During a call with the manager, our request was brushed off as a “stupid statement.” That's especially disappointing at a hotel whose slogan is “Pamper yourself – find peace – feel good.” The hotel has some nice, spacious rooms, but I can't recommend it.

We bikers from Northern Germany felt at ease at Haus Sonnenschein and would gladly return. We were only passing through on our motorcycles, so it was a one-night stay. The welcome was very warm, the room had excellent facilities, and Wi-Fi was available. The balcony was especially handy for airing our gear. We knew in advance that no meals were offered at the house, so we ate dinner and breakfast at a nearby restaurant and bakery, both within 800 meters. There's also a supermarket nearby that stays open until 10:00 PM. Cold drinks, tea, and coffee were available at Haus Sonnenschein for a small fee.
