The rooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast was quite good. The restaurant also serves local food and drinks. The hotel sits on a hill near Löbau, in eastern Germany, within reach of Dresden and Görlitz. There’s no cooling in the rooms, a small drawback, though the building is old. Worth staying at if you’re visiting the area.

We’ll definitely come back. The food was delicious and came out quickly, and the staff were friendly and focused on guests. The restaurant has a lovely spot in the forest, with views of the surrounding mountains and villages from the windows.

I still find myself talking about our stay, even though my friend and I haven’t been back for about ten years. We were there as Jess of the August Foerster piano Factory. This little inn is tucked into the woods on a mountain, looking out over the whole Lobo Valley. I loved stepping onto my balcony in the morning to sunshine, blue skies, birdsong, and no city noise. Both dinner and breakfast were first class. If you’re after somewhere special, this could be the place. I’d give it six stars if I could.
