The staff made this a really pleasant stop after our short climb up Löbauer Berg. We had a drink and a light meal at the tower restaurant, and the location and atmosphere were lovely. There were a few small mix-ups with our food and drinks. The team wasn't fully staffed, so at times the waitstaff were also helping in the kitchen. They explained the mistakes openly and kindly, and everyone seemed to be doing their best to make guests feel welcome. Nobody was rude or stressed, and we're all human. We left with a very positive impression and will remember the visit fondly. I’ve taken off one star for the minor organizational issues.

Our rooms at the Berghäusl, which belongs to the restaurant, each had a bathroom, and we shared a balcony with a fantastic view of Löbau. Wi-Fi was available too. For a single night it was okay, but I wouldn't stay longer. There was dust and creepy-crawlies, and you might be better off taking your glasses off so you don't spot more faults. Finding the accommodation in the dark was quite an adventure. There were no signs, and the man just waved vaguely in a direction. After asking a few teenagers where to go, we followed a pitch-black hiking trail downhill to get there. The scenery is what really saves the experience. We arrived late and were the only guests. The innkeeper was already a bit tipsy and looked scruffy, though he was very friendly. The food had just been reheated, but it tasted okay.
