Wellnesshotel und Restaurant Hexenschopf

We were only stopping for one night on the way to Bavaria, and it made a nice place to rest. The food and dining area were both good, and the staff were polite without hovering. Our room was clean, a good size, and had the facilities we needed. It was in a separate building from the main Restaurant/bar, which I liked. I didn't use the spa, so can't comment on it. There is off-road parking, but very little of it, and guests just stopping for a drink in the beer garden may take the spaces.

The witchy decor was a fun touch and suited the town, and the restaurant food was decent. I was there for two nights in September, and the clean, comfortable room was fine. It was a little quiet, probably because we'd reached the end of hiking season, though we were biking. The staff were polite, but as other reviews have said, they didn't seem especially friendly. They weren't rude or unwelcoming, just not very smiley.

After a long hike, the 90°c sauna and water message were just what I needed. The wellness spa was perfect, and the room was beautifully kept. The kitchen was great too, especially the liver with its fantastic seasoning and sauce. Prices were very reasonable, and I'll stay here again when I'm in the area. If you enjoy soccer, the local clubhouse FC Löffingen 1920 is a good place for a beer and a match, with reasonable prices and a nice game-time atmosphere.

It's not quite the usual hiker's hotel for someone walking the Schluchtensteig, but I still had a very nice stay. The food was good, there's outdoor dining, and breakfast the next morning was great. My room was very clean and comfortable; the shared open area behind the building was the one slightly drab spot. From the train station, about a ten minute walk away, a convenient bus connects to the hiking trail.
