Kunst-Hotel Drei König am Marktplatz Stadt Lörrach

The hotel is right above a club or bar, and the music from its terrace is very loud until 2 am. If you want to spend the night feeling like you’re sleeping in a club for 100 bucks, I’d recommend it.

I’ve travelled all over Germany, and this was easily one of the nicer hotels I’ve stayed in. The room was spacious and clean, and getting the key from the box outside was easy. Communication was great. The square was a bit noisy, though it didn’t bother me, and there’s a nice little bar downstairs too. I can’t believe all the one-star reviews.

The downtown area was pretty, and breakfast was normal for a two-star hotel. But the room was old and the bed was terrible. The entrance and key box weren’t easy to find, and there was nowhere to park right downtown, so we paid 14€ for parking. I stayed one night.

I’d planned to stay a week, but checked out after two nights and changed hotels. The old town location is beautiful and lively, and the staff are friendly. Still, the bed wasn’t very comfortable, breakfast was very modest, and guest service was poor, as the attached photo of the iron and ironing board shows. I wanted to support this local business, but can’t give it more than three stars.
