Hotel Stadt Lörrach

The lift is a bit slow, which made sense with our really big group all using it at once. The service was friendly and efficient, and both the bar and breakfasts were top class. It’s a lovely hotel, close to amenities.

There was a fridge and coffee machine in the large, comfortable room. The bed and bathroom were comfortable too. The sound insulation may be a little weak, as we could hear the neighbors in the next room.

We stayed six nights, three of us, and got to try both the Deluxe room and the Executive Suite. Both were beautiful, immaculate, and spacious. The hotel staff were very helpful, and the breakfast buffet was really nice and included in the room cost. It’s directly across from the main train station, which is great for visiting Lorrach or the wider Basel metro region. We had a great stay and would definitely come back if we’re in the area.

The front desk was hostile, and the towels had holes in them. The furniture was old, possibly carried over from another hotel. There was a high police presence, as far as we could tell because border police choose to stay here. It’s overpriced and definitely not a four-star hotel.
