Hotel Kassel Ost

Parking right outside was easy, and the A7 is close by without the traffic noise bothering you. The food service was great, with a coffeeshop and snacks and drinks too. After the 2024 renovation, the place was really nice and clean.

We came across the place by chance and stayed for one night. There’s a huge car park outside, where quite a few campervans had spent the night. It was free and peaceful.

The staff were lovely and happy to help with requests, including when I was travelling with my disabled wife. I’d give the hotel five stars for everything they could control. At the time, though, construction nearby had blocked access and left the hotel without parking that day. That was clearly outside their control and a big inconvenience for staff and guests. Unless you’re willing to drive through an abandoned building site to get close to the entrance, I’d recommend staying from around summer 2018 onwards, once the work is done.

A great motel for a long-distance trip. We arrived after midnight, but reception was staffed and food was still available. The rooms were clean, the beds VERY comfortable, and it was quiet despite being fairly close to the freeway. We came back after six years, and it’s still good : )
