I managed to book a wonderful room for two at very short notice, and the junior suite was great. The living room had fascinating coffee table books, while the bedroom had a lovely big bed and a clean, spacious bathroom. The quiet natural setting and golf course around the castle were a relaxing change after the big city hustle. Honest recommendation.

The restaurant had a great range of international dishes, served by friendly staff. It's separate from the hotel, as is the bar, although both are in the same building. The hotel reception staff were friendly too. The rooms are stylish and suit the historic surroundings, with modern bathrooms. Breakfast was continental, in a nice setting with indoor and outdoor seating. The staff seemed busy with ...what? It's a pleasant countryside stay, aside from the airplanes approaching the nearby airport.

They couldn’t process anyone’s credit card on checkout day, and there weren’t even snacks or bottled water available to buy. The shower was clogged, the keys kept getting stuck in the doors, and the staff didn’t speak English. Uber drivers wouldn’t come there, so the receptionist ordered us a taxi to the wrong train station. The way they scheduled weddings on top of each other was confusing and awkward for guests. We also heard they contact the bride and groom to press them for Yelp reviews.

We enjoyed sitting outside. The staff were nice, and there were some good things to choose from on the menu.
