The rooms were exceptional, but the rest of the stay was a letdown. They were doing construction, and it was loud enough that anyone needing sleep should avoid visiting. We expected a vineyard boutique hotel, but the service felt like a B&B despite the boutique-hotel prices. They got our dates wrong and gave us the wrong breakfast hours, then scolded us even though it wasn't our mistake. In the evening, a tray with wine and water fell on my back, and I didn't even get an apology. A big service failure and a big disappointment.

There are pitches for about 9 motorhomes, so book ahead. It's a beautiful, calm setting, and the vineyard makes a delightful selection of well-crafted wines that you can sample and buy from their outstanding restaurant.

The Longen family from the winery will sit down with you and ask who you are and how you're doing. They have nothing to prove, and that was lovely. I've stayed in Italy, France, Napa, and even New York Finger Lakes, Upstate, but I don't think I've ever felt so welcomed. The Italians and French were friendly too, when I was on their good side. Do they have a good side? That's another story. At first I wondered why Matteo Thün would design a hotel in this hideaway. I think he's come far enough in life that he doesn't need to chase money and can do what he feels like. Must be nice to be rich. Good luck, Longen & Schlöder!

We enjoyed a lovely wine tasting in the wine shop and would love to come back. It's a charming winery with a small campervan site, 8 pitches, with electricity and water available. The sanitary facilities were very clean. There's 1 shower and a separate toilet. It cost €18 without electricity.
