Hotel Excelsior Ludwigshafen

We had a lovely stay on the 12th floor, where the view was beautiful by day and at night. The room was tidy and really clean. Big thanks to the cleaning staff, 10 out of 10 👍👍👍

The one bright spot was the woman at reception. Otherwise, this was probably the worst hotel I've stayed at in Europe. Several rooms had lights that didn't work, and I had to switch rooms because of the lighting. There aren't enough sockets either, so charging my phone meant unplugging a light. The elevators are old and creak.

We stayed in room 124 from 25/11-29/11 and were very happy with it. It was spacious, clean, and had a lovely view. The room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels, shampoo, shower gel, and cream. Our flight was late, so we got in around 00:30-01:00 on 25/11, but the receptionist was kind and it was no problem. The station is right beside the hotel, and Mannheim is 10 minutes away by train. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The room was dirty and stuffy, with dust on the shelves, a dirty glass, stains on the bed, marks on the sink, and snot and hair in the bathroom. We booked twin beds but got a double, and its wheels let it roll around while we slept. The curtain had come off its hooks, the seat was broken, and mattress springs stuck out enough to feel against my back. There was only one bath towel for three people. Wi-Fi no longer worked in rooms on floors 10 and 11.
