Amselgarten

We especially enjoyed the terrace, which was a lovely place to sit outside even when the weather turned bad. The apartment had everything we needed, and the view over the forest added to the feeling of relaxation. The host family were warm and friendly, and we’d be glad to return. If you like nature and photographing animals, this is a great spot.

We borrowed two well-maintained bikes from the owners for €20 per day for both. They were plenty for our 35 km ride, and cheaper than hiring bikes in Lübben. With the apartment roughly central to the Spreewald, we could reach most areas on bike trips of 30-40 km a day. The owners were happy to chat and gave us useful pointers for finding local sights. The first-floor apartment has its own entrance and is furnished to a high standard. The kitchen had all the cookware, dishes, glasses, and appliances we needed. There are mosquito screens on every window. From the garden, which the owners tend at the forest's edge, we looked out to greenery from the lovely terrace. Part of it is covered by a pitched roof, and when it’s warm enough you can sleep outside on a raised platform under a mosquito net. The apartment provides the two mattresses for it. We were very happy with the place and would rent it again while exploring more of the Spreewald.

The hosts were really friendly and helpful, and the apartment had all the essentials in comfortable surroundings. It’s a lovely, peaceful spot right beside the forest. Definitely worth staying here! 😁

The large terrace looking out over the greenery was a real highlight, and a lovely place to relax. The apartment was very well equipped, and the hosts made us feel welcome. Such an idyllic, quiet setting at the edge of the forest.
