Pension Spreewelten

Each room is its own piece of art, made with a local artist in a completely different style. The Pension is nicely furnished and cozy, right by the train station. I was worried about trains going by several times an hour, but the noise wasn’t a problem, and they provide earplugs. The staff were friendly and helpful, communicated with us well in advance, and prepared everything for a nice stay. There’s no proper reception, and office hours are very limited. I needed a kettle, but there wasn’t one in the room, and I couldn’t get hold of one because the office/reception was closed all weekend. My main disappointment was the lack of a shower in my room. Since it was described as a "shared bathroom," I expected a shared facility somewhere on the floor, but there wasn’t one. This important detail wasn’t mentioned in advance or in the room description, and it’s a big deal breaker for me. Breakfast was very disappointing, too. It’s served at a different Pension, and I haven’t encountered such rude staff in years. They made sure we didn’t want to return. On the second morning we ate elsewhere, even though breakfast had already been paid for.
