Spreewald Pension Am Spreeschlößchen

We stayed at Spreewaldpension Am Spreeschlösschen for four nights in September 2024. One thing worth knowing before arrival is that it’s in Lübbenau, not Burg, which is another town about 8 miles away. Both towns have a Spreestrasse 12, so it’s easy to get mixed up. The pension is close to the center of Lübbenau, with parking space available. Dammstrasse, where most of the shops, restaurants, and the main dock, Grosser Hafen, are, is about a five-minute walk. Kleiner Hafen and the biergarten by the water are only two minutes away. Even though it’s near the tourist center, evenings were quiet. Rooms are on the lower and upper floors. Our room was clean and average in size, with a comfortable queen bed, a nice bathroom with shower, and the necessary amenities. There was no Kleenex or shower soap. The desk and armoire had plenty of cubby space for our packing cubes. We also liked the breakfast buffet, which had lots of choices. Check-in was a little awkward. Nobody was there at 3:00 PM, and a sign on the door told us to call a local number. Once we got hold of the owner/manager, he clearly explained how to get the security code for the entrance and our room. For a popular tourist destination, we thought it was good value, and we’d stay here again.

The rain didn't take away from our weekend at all. We’ve just finished another lovely stay here with five friends, after spending a wonderful weekend at the guesthouse last year. Thanks to the whole team, especially for arranging the mulled wine boat trip from the small harbor. The boat was beautiful and the ferryman very competent. We’ll definitely come back and recommend you to others.

Our ground-floor room was simply furnished but had a nice feel to it. The guesthouse was impressively quiet despite being central, and we enjoyed the varied breakfast, especially the fresh bakery rolls and perfectly cooked eggs. We stayed for two nights and would love to return.

Everything was very convenient for a relaxing weekend in nature. We booked two nights in room 7, and the location meant we could walk everywhere. The room was a good size, with a large bathroom and walk-in shower. Private parking on the property was included in the price. Breakfast had what you need to start the day, and the service was friendly and attentive.
