The location works really well for trips to the sea and nearby towns along the Baltics. The place has an interesting history and spirit, with a huge, lovely garden and a couple of historically furnished saloons. Our room was actually made up of three rooms and a bathroom. The accommodation was beautiful, the staff nice, and the whole experience absolutely exceptional. Kids are welcome, and it also seems suitable for celebrations and weddings.
Herrenhause is the kind of place to choose for its history and spirit, not if you're after a 5* hotel. It's not new and can be uncomfortable at times, but it's simply beautiful and authentic. The owner struggles with the history of the place, DDR, II WW, IWW... The hotel rooms are clean, with fresh towels, pillows, blankets, etc. Worth staying!
The setting was beautiful and peaceful, and I felt like a king in a castle. See you next year. :)
