We had a good time overall, and the service and atmosphere were really nice. What let it down for me was the Black Angus rump steak with mango habanero chimichurri and salad with mojito dressing (€38), one of the priciest dishes on the menu. The steak itself was fine, but the dish came across much plainer than its creative, fresh-sounding description. I couldn't taste lime or mint in the mojito dressing, just vinegar. The chimichurri also lacked the herbs, mango sweetness, and habanero heat I expected, and again the vinegar was strong. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

We booked on short notice and asked about vegan breakfast, and they were very accommodating. The rooms were cozy, the food was great, and the service was really friendly. It's a lovely historic place, and we'd definitely recommend it.

At 9.00 pm the coffee machine was switched off, the service was slow, and our sides were forgotten. It was one of those rare menus where I couldn't find anything I really fancied eating. With the competition around, I don't see a bright future for this place.
