My 80-year-old mom and I loved being right in the Altstadt, just steps from the Brühlsche Terrasse, Elbe, and Frauenkirche. We could walk everywhere. It’s self-catering, with a shared kitchen on every floor offering coffee and tea, a microwave, and a kettle. The rooms are basic but comfortable, each with its own en suite bathroom.

There’s a big balcony with chairs and tables, plus a small kitchen with a refrigerator, plates, and cutlery. Parking costs 6 euros for 24 hours and is about a five-minute walk away by the river. The location is excellent, just steps from the Zwinger Art Gallery and a ten-minute walk to the Opera House.

For a very decent price, this guest house offers nice rooms, helpful staff, and a peaceful atmosphere. There’s no luxury, but it’s a great-value stay in an excellent spot, with direct access to the old town and river terrace. Convenient tea kitchens are available. Just right for quiet people who want to enjoy Dresden.

The location is great, and the place was very clean and quiet. WiFi was poor or nonexistent on the top floor, though, and there was no staff around over the weekend. As an English-only speaker, I found it confusing to know which parts of the hostel I was allowed to use. Our key opened a large, nice room downstairs with good WiFi, but we were told it was closed. This seems better suited to older visitors than younger ones.
