Hotel Scheffler Lüneburg

The staff were nice, but when I didn’t understand a word in English, yelling didn’t help much 😂. The room wasn’t what I expected, and the bathroom had a nasty smell. For those euros, I expected more. Way too expensive for what’s there.

It might feel a little outside your comfort zone, and there’s no dinner or drinks in the evening. Still, it’s right in the centre of Lüneburg, with nice staff. Maybe an acquired taste.

We booked on the spur of the moment for a stopover and were pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and well cared for, the beds were really comfortable, and the location in the city centre was fantastic. It was also very quiet. Parking and a late checkout at 12:00 PM were extra pluses. The staff were warm and helpful in person, just as they’d been on the first phone call. Thank you so much! We plan to come back for a few days when we have more time.

The rooms all have a lovely country-house style, and after a wonderfully restful night there’s a generous breakfast. This quirky yet modern hotel has been beautifully renovated, with many original features from the house’s beginnings in 1651 preserved. It’s right in the centre, with a small parking area for your car. The staff gave us such a warm welcome, showed us to our room, and explained the key. We’ll definitely be back! It’s an easy, no-fuss way to stay in the beautiful old town.
