Forsthaus Seebergen

The restaurant was a highlight for us. We had dinner there twice, and everything we tried was prepared in an original way and incredibly delicious. They have an eclectic wine selection too, and breakfast was good. The hotel sits in the forest beside a beautiful swan lake, with gorgeous views and scenery that's lovely day and night. Our room was cozy, with a forest view. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful, and the service was great. I also emailed the hotel before the trip and always got a quick reply to my questions. They looked after us extremely well and made our business trip spectacular. Thank you so much for such good work❤️

The bar and restaurant were closed, but the spot is fantastic and the people are friendly. They sent us to Luna at the golf club for food and drinks, and that turned out to be a great tip.

The grounds around the place were fantastic, and the room was spacious and comfortable. We arrived late at night, but they arranged for us to collect the key from a special box. The one bad part was that someone smoked a large cigar in the room at some point, and it ended up smelling like a cigar shop.

We spent a week here, and everyone was so kind and helpful that the stay felt exceptionally relaxing. The setting is idyllic and peaceful, in lovely countryside just outside Hamburg, in a traditional Forsthaus full of history and beauty. The food is beautifully prepared, the kind of gourmet cooking you'd find at a high-end restaurant in the US, and in my experience better than most of the upscale places I've visited there. They focus on traditional German dishes, including venison, duck, and fish. A car is recommended. The surrounding cities are conveniently reachable, with Hamburg about 30 minutes away and Luebeck, Moelln, and Ratzebug around 30-40 minutes away. It's also a good chance to try out your Autobahn driving skills. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
