The old house is part of its charm. We had a good breakfast and a friendly host, and the price was good too. A great historic place.

The hotel is romantically set by the Main and the rooms are affordable, but this traditional place has clearly seen better days. My companion was bothered by the lack of cleanliness, while I was frustrated that the Wi-Fi didn’t work. The hotel wasn’t easy to find because there was no restaurant sign. Breakfast was okay, our dog stayed free, and there’s no elevator. The shower hose also needs fixing.

It’s cheap and right on the Main Cycle Path, but the place really needs renovation. The photos are quite flattering: lots of walls need repainting, the carpets have had their day, and there are small issues like a missing screw on a cupboard handle. With modest expectations, you get affordable accommodation and plenty of historical knowledge from the host. There’s also a bike storage room with a power outlet.
