B&B Hotel Mannheim-Neuostheim

I just needed a place to sleep during a busy weekend with friends in August. The room was clean, very good, and looked new, including the bathroom. Check-in was friendly and efficient. The air conditioning worked, and the black curtains made the room really dark for a good night's sleep. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay a few nights.

There's nowhere to leave luggage if you arrive early or leave late, not even a cooler bag. The hotel is outside the city, and even the open-air parking costs extra. Service has gone downhill over the years while the price has gone up. We'll try to avoid staying here in future.

B&B Hotel Neuostheim-Hans-Thoma Strasse would be my choice again if I return to Mannheim. The price felt good for what you get, and the staff were excellent. My room was nice, the bathroom elegant, and the bed comfortable. I arrived in February after a long trip to a really warm room, which was lovely. Hot water was available at any hour. I was satisfied with the cleanliness and the varied Swedish buffet breakfast, with something for any taste. The staff were polite, helpful, and attentive to my needs. SAP Arena is just 2 bus or tram stops away, which is great if you're going to a concert. You can reach downtown in half an hour by tram or bus, and parking is available. Entry after 10 p.m. requires your access code; reception is there to help until then. Self check-in is available 24/24 and 7/7, or you can check in at the desk. There seemed to be restaurants in the neighborhood, but I didn't try any. Their websites said reservations were needed, so I didn't go.

We paid for two rooms but could only access one. We arrived late at night, with no other rooms available, so one person in our group had to find another hotel at 1 AM. It was extremely frustrating and inconvenient to be charged for a room we never got to use. A very disappointing experience, and I can't recommend booking here unless they sort out issues like this. Check your confirmation email first.
