The apartment had a balcony that was lovely for breakfast, and there's a laundry room in the basement. I think washing and drying together cost 4 euros, though I don't remember exactly. Getting in was convenient because check-in is self-service at any hour, and I felt safe knowing you need a key to enter the property. The room was roomy enough, with a comfortable bathroom and kitchen. I visited in August, and the AC cooled the living room well but didn't do much for the bedroom. Still, the sofa bed was comfortable to sleep on. Bus and train stops are close, and you can also walk quickly to a central park and the city center. I was quite happy with my stay.

A 4star room with a kitchenette right in the city center is just what I want from the BoardingHouse. In the morning, there's a small selection of sandwiches, fruit, and coffee to go. If you arrive outside working hours when reception is closed, that's no problem: they email a code and instructions for getting your key from a safe locker.

The reception hours on weekends are odd, and it wasn't clear how to check out at 7 am on Sunday. The modern design also means lots of LEDs glow in the room. On the plus side, there's a big Aldi/Rewe parking lot next to the hotel, and the room had a balcony and a coffee machine with pads.

I stayed for 4 nights and loved it, maybe especially the penthouse. They provide a Nespresso coffee machine, and there's a laundry room in the basement. The location is near tram 5.
