Hotel Weber Mannheim

I keep coming back mostly because it’s only about five minutes from my workplace. There’s plenty of free parking, and several places to eat within walking distance. The staff are very friendly, and breakfast is good. Rooms are spacious, clean, and perfectly adequate; some have a little balcony where you can sit outside. The hotel is old, and the air conditioning has been out for quite a while, so summer stays can get hot. Being by the Autobahn and two gas stations means some outdoor noise, though I find it bearable. When I stayed at the Radisson Blu in the city centre, there was much more street noise, so the outside sounds here don’t seem too bad by comparison.

The rooms feel dated and badly need refurbishment. Even though the location near the Autobahn is convenient, management and customer service have been absent in my experience. I asked for a refund and was told it would be sent directly to my account, but more than two months later it still hasn’t arrived. Nobody from reception or management has contacted me to resolve it. Also, if the air conditioning is not working throughout the hotel, guests should be told when they check in. I had a poor stay and wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, even as a last option. Save yourself the trouble and spend your money elsewhere.

Kim and Ramona were the people I especially liked. They kept checking that we were doing well, and everyone at reception was consistently helpful and friendly. The hotel felt very welcoming, and I had a great experience. I’d stay here again if I needed to.

The room felt quite modern, and it was clean and quiet. Breakfast was solid, too. The bed did the job, though it wasn’t the most comfortable I’ve slept in, and the television didn’t offer many channels. It’s a nice, quiet little hotel, with a bar open in the evenings for food and drinks. I’d stay again.
