Pension Erika

I can't recommend this accommodation based on how my cancellation was handled. I booked a non-refundable room at Pension Erika through Booking.com, then cancelled more than a month before arriving after my training course was called off at short notice. I'm a mother of three, so the cost is a significant financial burden for me. I explained the situation in detail and followed up several times, but was simply sent back to Booking.com or the event organizer. No effort was made to accommodate me. I understand that a non-refundable rate doesn't entitle me to a refund, but I still expected some respect and understanding. The replies were especially disappointing: very brief, disrespectful, and, in my view, lacking empathy or humanity.

Dogs are truly welcome here, and the hostess treated our four-legged guests with real warmth and understanding. She was a gem: humorous, friendly, attentive, and present without ever being intrusive. We felt at home at Pension Erika, where the rooms were clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly adequate, a lovely start to the day. We'd wholeheartedly recommend this lovingly run guesthouse to anyone after a clean, cozy stay with a real feel-good atmosphere. Thanks for the wonderful time, we'd love to return!

The towels provided had an unpleasant smell, and charging full price for such an unpleasant stay seems outrageous to me. My guest ended the stay early after repeated complaints from the hosts, including about parking in front of the guesthouse despite there being no "No Parking" sign. They also accused my guest of leaving cigarette packs, though everything had been put away properly. The hosts practically intercepted my guest late one evening and confronted them in an unfriendly way. I found that unacceptable. On top of that, they apparently watch guests from the balcony and sometimes eavesdrop on conversations. It feels controlling and seriously intrudes on privacy. If this is how guests are treated, the hosts should reconsider whether they want to run a guesthouse.

Dear Christine and Hermann, staying with you really does feel like coming home. You can tell how much you love the guesthouse and your guests, and we felt so comfortable.
