Hotel Zur Linde

The food was excellent, the service was great, and I had a really enjoyable evening here.

There’s a lot to choose from on the menu, and it goes well beyond the usual mainstream options. They have several dishes for children and a really excellent range of vegetarian and vegan choices. When we mentioned an allergy, the staff were very accommodating about our special request. It’s a fairly large restaurant, but the rustic feel and charming little touches make it cozy. It’s popular, so booking ahead is a good idea. The staff were friendly and attentive, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Highly recommended.

The pork schnitzel with fried potatoes and eggs was delicious, with crisp breading, lovely garnishes, and a really nice presentation. They were happy to accommodate requests for a smaller schnitzel or portion. We had a great meal at Zur Linde and will definitely return. One thing would have been helpful to know when ordering: the dish comes with two schnitzels, and you can ask for just one. I found one was plenty, while two felt like two full portions. Thankfully, they gladly packed the leftovers, so we had another delicious meal the next day.

We turned up on Sunday evening without a reservation and were greeted at this clean, pleasant restaurant. We sat outside, and the server let us know right away that rain was probably on the way. We decided to stay outdoors anyway. A complimentary starter came first, bread that seemed homemade with some kind of garlic spread. It was so good that I was looking forward to the rest of the meal. The crab soup was delicious, nicely seasoned without overpowering the crab. I also had roast pork with a herb crust, potatoes, and cabbage. The meat was tender and not fatty, and the crust gave it something extra. I initially wondered if it needed more salt, but with the tasty cabbage the seasoning was just right. I’ll definitely plan another visit.
