The breakfast we’d booked was a letdown. The website promised a delicate spread with different breads and waffles at 9 am on Saturday and Sunday, but what we got was mediocre, just some cheese, fruit, and marmalade. There was only one kind of bread, and the waffles weren’t available until 11. When we asked staff whether we were in the wrong place and where the “real” breakfast was, a woman nearly yelled at us. She didn’t know about the website or its offer and didn’t seem interested in finding out. We left, then called to cancel our dinner reservation for that evening. When we mentioned her colleague’s rudeness, the response was simply, “Well.” The food looked fine, but it wasn’t worth the price. The staff were tremendously rude, and customer service seemed foreign to them.

For what it cost, we expected more. The staff didn’t seem friendly or focused on customers, and breakfast wasn’t tasty. The waffles were really dry, and despite being advertised as vegan friendly, there weren’t good vegan options.

They have savory choices too, but I went for the buckwheat waffle with buckthorn (sanddorn) and fresh cheese. It was tasty, and the wheatgrass latte was yummy as well. It’s an organic restaurant with good wholemeal waffles.
