Limehome Memmingen Maximilianstraße

There’s no physical reception here. Everything runs through an app, with digital check-in codes sent on the day of arrival after 3:00 PM. The rooms do have kitchens and are somewhat spacious, but I ran into several problems during my stay. The code setup was especially inconvenient. I asked twice through the app about checking in early, but still got the code only after 3:00 PM. Since there’s no lobby or reception to wait in, I and other guests had to stand outside. Leaving is just as inflexible, as the access code stops working at 11:00 AM sharp and late check-out isn’t available. There was also a day when the building’s hot water stopped working. With no staff on site, I had to reach someone on WhatsApp, and it took a full day to get fixed. I ended up taking cold showers, including before work. Housekeeping is limited too: regular cleaning is offered only for stays longer than 15 days, rather than daily or every other day as at a typical hotel. For Memmingen, the price is about the same as or higher than a standard hotel, even though there are fewer services and amenities. The digital hotel idea may suit some people, but the rigid policies, lack of basic hospitality services, and maintenance issue make it hard for me to recommend. There are traditional hotels in town with more flexibility and service for similar or lower prices.
