The pool was clean and a lovely place to relax on sunny days, with fruit trees and lots of blackberry bushes nearby. Our three-bedroom apartment was great for a family: the beds were super comfortable, and the kitchen had everything for cooking and even baking, including a great oven, dishwasher, espresso machine, roomy fridge, and separate freezer. There was also a high chair and baby monitors. Each unit has its own gas grill, and some windows have screens. The owner has really thought of the little things guests might need. Trampolini, Dad Bad, a shopping center with Lidl, Aldi, clothing and other shops, and Rewe are all just 4-5 minutes away by car. It’s a fun little town, and a good place for families with or without pets.

We stayed two nights at the Hesse v. Hillbringen Apartment in Schloss Hillbringen. It felt like a royal stay, and was completely out of the ordinary.

Christoph was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. There’s a small bakery right across the way, plenty of shops in Merzig, and parking in the castle courtyard was easy. The castle is also simple to reach from the motorway. We spent four nights at the end of August, two of us in the Maurice holiday apartment, right in the castle, and were very happy with it. It had plenty of everything, especially kitchen appliances, and the box-spring bed made for a restful night. The antique furniture is lovely, and the historic Villeroy & Boch bathroom tiles are unique. Hilbringen Castle has a long, fascinating history, which you can read about on the website. Highly recommended, and many thanks!

We felt right at home in the Maurice holiday apartment. A friend had given us four nights there, and we had a wonderful stay. It’s beautifully and tastefully restored, with everything well equipped and cared for down to the details. The owner welcomed us and shared the fascinating history of the castle. We’ll definitely return. Bravo!
