Kitz Boutique Hotel & Restaurant

I stayed for two weeks and really felt at home. The welcoming staff and boutique look give the hotel a lovely atmosphere, and breakfast in the cozy lounge was a great way to start the day. The hotel is right in the center of Metzingen, so it’s easy to reach the Outlet Center and the many restaurants in town. Check-in was the easiest I’ve ever had, thanks to the key locker outside when reception is closed.

The staff were so welcoming, and the hotel is right in the center of Metzingen. Really handy for a shopping trip to the outlet.

I took my 77-year-old mother to Metzingen for outlet shopping on January 10 and booked a night at Kitz hotel because I was worried about her. After we got back from shopping, she lay down while I went to shower. Water flooded out of the bathroom into the room, soaking my belongings, so I rushed to pick them up. At the same time, a man opened our room door. I shouted at him to leave. Once dressed, I called reception. The same man came in and asked what I was doing. I said I was showering, of course, and asked to speak to the manager because I wanted compensation. He was rude and said he owned the hotel, accused me of damaging it, demanded that I pay, and called the police. The police arrived about ten minutes later, asked us a few questions, and suggested moving rooms to calm things down. The owner kept being rude and told us to leave. It was nearly midnight and I had my mother with me, so I swallowed my anger and moved to another room. Neither of us slept well. At checkout the next day, the owner threatened to sue me if I left a bad review on Booking. I’m sharing what happened to warn people away. It was a really awful experience.

We arrived during a holiday when the hotel was closed, but the owner came over and saved our day and night. The service was great. It’s a brand-new hotel with a real focus on design.
