Schwanen Boutique Hotel & Restaurant Metzingen

The breakfast was very nice, and all the hotel staff I met were friendly and helpful. The rooms feel a bit old school. The beds were okay, though the sheets and/or duvet weren’t really to my taste. You can’t adjust the room temperature, and the duvet sometimes made it too warm, while taking it off left me too cold. Still, I’d gladly stay here again.

Whenever we visit the metzingen outlets, we like to come here for brunch. The food is fresh, the atmosphere is comfortable and quiet, and the service people are very friendly.

We’ve stayed here several times over the past five years because of the location, and my company has a corporate account, so we expected better pricing. Instead, the price was worse despite the promise of the best price when booking directly. That was a small issue compared with the rude behavior and poor attitude of some front desk staff. Customer care and help don’t seem to be a priority. During our two-week stay, we were asked to change rooms twice because of conflicting bookings. We finally left two days early because of the inconvenience and were charged a hefty cancellation fee. Parking is scarce, and the front desk tells you to move if you park in a non-designated area, even when it’s completely legal. The restaurant is average at best, with a boring menu that hasn’t changed much. Business must be good, since there seems to be no effort to please customers. You also don’t know what kind of room you’ll get. Some have AC and others don’t. Church bells early in the morning and street traffic are a nuisance, and room service is hit or miss. I’ll avoid this hotel in future and direct other visitors we host to better nearby options.

Great quality for the price, with friendly staff. The restaurant was an EXCELLENT and very pleasant surprise. I’m rarely impressed by restaurant food these days, but I can fully recommend the tuna steak.
