I hadn’t planned to take this cable car and didn’t even know about it, so I wasn’t expecting much. It turned out to be amazing, maybe even better than the one in Innsbruck. At the boarding area there’s car parking and a shop. The staff were really cool. They’re there to do their jobs, not simply to serve people, as some users might think, and they were still the best people to ask when we had questions. I only speak English, not German, but had a great trip up and down. The views from the top were amazing, with Mittenwald and other high peaks clearly visible, and the Germany/Austria border is up there too. Try the restaurant at the top for the view. I don’t drink, but the brewery has a good reputation, and having one so high up is special. The goulash soup with Pretzel was the best 🤩 I visited in Summer 2025.

We went up on the Bergbahn on a sunny afternoon with just a few other people, so it was really quiet. There’s a restaurant at the top, and you can walk the Panorama Trail for more views of the surrounding mountains. We visited in early May, when there was still some snow, and had a great sunny time.

The drivers were grumpy and unfriendly, though cards are accepted. The restaurant at the top was nice, with beautiful mountain views and good food. The food choices were limited, understandably :)

The experience and views are worth the rather high price. We arrived at 8:30am and waited about 30 minutes before boarding, including buying the ticket and waiting for the next cable car. There’s a €5 deposit per ticket, which you get back when you return the ticket. It would be better organized with separate lines for buying tickets and returning them.
