Hotel Deutsches Haus Mittweida

The children were delighted to find little surprises on their pillows, and we loved the view over the rooftops of Mittweida. We stayed in the family room on the top floor for the weekend with our two children. It was a good size, modern, and had a fantastic new bathroom. The hotel has recently reopened after a fresh renovation. Digital check-in was easy, and there was plenty of parking behind the building. We had a delicious dinner at the Italian restaurant across the street and a great breakfast in the restaurant downstairs. We’d love to stay again.

The room’s box-spring bed and bathroom were definite highlights. The recently renovated space looked modern and tidy, but felt sterile, cold, and impersonal. We booked a deluxe double room with breakfast for one night at Hotel Deutsches Haus. Digital check-in took a little getting used to, though it worked perfectly, and using the code for all the doors was simple. On our first trip to the toilet, we noticed the toilet paper had apparently been forgotten. Breakfast at €13.50 didn’t feel like good value, although it had what you needed and we certainly didn’t go hungry. The hotel has potential, especially because of its location, and the renovation was clearly needed and well done. A bit more coziness in the room and some pictures in the hallway would make a stay more memorable. For our next visit, though, we’d choose another hotel.

Right in the center of Mittweida, this newly renovated hotel was spotlessly clean and incredibly comfortable. For me, it’s the best hotel in town. I’ll be back and will happily recommend it.

The waiter speaks so loudly that people nearby can hear orders, prices, and even payment problems. He also doesn’t pay much attention to the guests. The restrooms aren’t clearly marked.
