I liked that check-in and check-out were both self-service.

Everything was clean and all that, but the people seemed disorganized.

The mold in the shower was the worst part. In both rooms, the shower doors had thick black mold in the corners, and it looked like nobody had dealt with it for a long time. The other room's shower hose leaked badly and sprayed water everywhere. Replacing it with a €10 hose apparently wasn't done, and the broken one may last a few more years. The so-called bathroom was a small room with a shower, sink, and toilet. We found an empty tissue box and a worn, frayed bath mat when we arrived. We booked rooms 2 and 3 directly on a former guest's recommendation from 2023. The drawn-out communication before the final booking confirmation should have been a warning. Keys were handed over through the now-standard key safe. Both rooms are in the basement, about 1 meter below sidewalk level. Two windows can be opened or tilted, but only one can be secured from inside against opening accidentally. The outer shutters don't close all the way, though the inner blinds give some privacy. Eating in the rooms is prohibited, and there isn't a suitable table. The wardrobe was covered in cobwebs, so we didn't put our clothes in it. We asked in writing for a partial refund, since we paid €115 for the double room and €99 for the single room. They responded with threats of legal action and accusations of extortion. Save yourself the disappointment and stay elsewhere. The DARZ is worthless.
