The location and price are good, but this was just okay overall. The management staff seemed a bit lazy and never helped. Being near a junction also means hearing lots of ambulance, police, and fire truck sirens day and night.

Clean, with lots of free facilities, and it wasn’t crowded.

The location is good and easy to get to, and the price is low. Still, none of the people we spoke with wanted to stay there again if they could avoid it. It makes you wonder whether the good reviews were written by the owners. When we arrived, we couldn’t even tell where the hotel was meant to be. There were piles of rubble bags by the street. After a long wait, a man behind the building, who spoke at least a few words of German, said he was in charge. We waited again while he prepared our room, then he proudly showed it to us. Water kept leaking from the bathroom toilet. A worker came into our tiny room every day, apparently to keep us entertained. They repeatedly apologized in broken English. Most of the workers seemed to come from the former Yugoslavia, and almost none spoke more than a word or two of German. The man then moved a bunk bed aside, lifted a tile, and turned the underground water inlet. The hole stayed open in the floor for quite a while, and the whole performance happened several times. Construction at the new building, very close to the existing house, went on almost nonstop and late into the night. It seems they wanted to cram as many "easy rooms" as possible onto the property. Guests whispered that fire safety rules weren’t being followed, and that the tax, public order, social welfare, and employment offices should all investigate at once. The kitchen in the "old building" was scattered with cigarette butts left by the "cheap laborers," as one resident called them. With noisy, potentially dangerous construction underway, rooms probably shouldn’t be rented out. But the questionable setup seems to bring in good money.

I booked a room on March 1st, but the coronavirus crisis means I can’t make the trip I’d planned. Canceling costs exactly the price of the accommodation, with no leniency despite the crisis. If I reschedule for a later date, I’ll book somewhere else.
