We had a great couple of days. The room was large, with a little fridge, electric kettle, coffee, and tea. The service was very friendly, and the location was great. There’s a big garden with plenty of comfortable chairs and loungers, plus a small private pier and a terrace overlooking the lake.

The goose breast was delicious and buttery, served on modern classic tableware, and the French-style cutlery felt very nice to use. Service was friendly and attentive. The in-house restaurant serves seasonal classical German dishes. Our spacious, newly renovated suite was clean and very well maintained, with a sea view. The estate has an elegant, old-school traditional German country feel. Yes, we recommend it.

A clean, efficient hotel at a reasonable price. It’s in a pleasant, quiet spot with convenient access to the A44 motorway.

Breakfast was a tasty buffet with a wide variety to choose from. Dinner was less successful: one person in my group ordered chanterelle soup and found it very bitter. The server later said three people had complained about the bitterness, so there was something wrong with it. When we arrived, there was only one duvet for the two of us, but the receptionist, who was lovely and very helpful, sorted it out quickly. The rooms were quite small and had spiderwebs in the corners. For the price, though, it was alright.

We really enjoyed ourselves at Moehnesee in Germay. There’s hiking, boating, a spa, or just relaxing on the terrace with the view. It’s elegant, old-style hospitality.
