Hotel Jeong

The receptionist was nice, and the price was good.

There’s room for improvement.

It’s cozy and reminds me of a small room in my Korean grandmother’s house. For this price range, the accommodation is reasonable, though it isn’t modern or stylish. The room has a TV, refrigerator, table and chairs, plates, cutlery, cups, a coffee pot, desk lamp, closet, radiator, hair dryer and blackout curtains. There might be some dust, but the bathroom was very clean, with a small shower room. The first-floor restaurant is closed, but you can bring your own food and eat inside or on the outdoor terrace. I really liked the Korean interior in the old restaurant. The staff aren’t Korean, but there was a Korean grandmother there who was genuinely warm and welcoming. I could feel the Korean “jeong” (affection) in the hotel, just as its name suggests. Moers is so far away from me that I don’t think I’ll return. But if I do, I’d definitely stay here again.

We stayed for three nights, just as planned, and didn’t try the food, so I can’t comment on that. Unfortunately, the hotel didn’t meet our expectations. The balcony was huge, but half of it had no railing. The hallway door could only be locked with a key, and some of the floor baseboards were loose. I’d rather not get into the glass lamp dome. We didn’t mind the old-fashioned furniture, but it could have been better maintained.
