There are lots of hiking trails around this beautiful location, and parking is easy to find. The kitchen is very well equipped, with plenty of towels too. Apartment 17d has only a small terrace, though, and the rooms look much bigger in the photos. Internet barely works, and construction across from the house was noisy from 7:30 a.m.

We were there as a family of two adults and two children, and the positives were real. The area is beautiful and quiet, there’s plenty of parking, a garden with a beach chair, and a bakery within walking distance. The Wienkist wine bar next door serves tasty tarte flambée, including versions with pizza toppings, and drinks at fair prices. Within a 30-minute drive we found several nice restaurants and ate at four of them, all very good. Lobbe also has a lovely beach, about a 3-minute walk from the Lobber Ort parking lot. The fish stand at Fischbüdchen Lobbe is delicious and reasonably priced. We liked that stretch of Baltic Sea more than Binz, with more waves, a better seabed, easier entry, and fewer crowds. There’s a big sports field nearby for flying kites or playing football, plus lots of hiking and cycling routes. The houses are well equipped, including a dryer, washing machine, large kitchen, very large fridge, decent freezer space, and plenty of dishes, cutlery, and glasses. Still, the negatives outweighed all that enough for me to give just 2 stars, even though some aren’t the accommodation’s fault. Rügen was extremely crowded. With the family we kept getting stuck in traffic or spending time hunting for parking at the places we wanted to visit. I wouldn’t take my family to Rügen again. Maybe Binz or Göhren right by the beach could work, but the weather would need to cooperate because the sights were packed. Our apartments at Boddenstraße 17a and 17c looked very neglected outside, and cleanliness indoors and around the property left a lot to be desired. In good weather the house gets very hot, and the children’s rooms were on the top floor, the 2nd floor. After 8:00 p.m. we couldn’t sit outside, even in lovely weather, because the garden was full of mosquitoes. I wish I could show a photo of my leg after the first evening. We used loads of Autan and it didn’t help. There was plenty of crockery, but the beer glasses we used seemed not to have been used in a long time and probably hadn’t been cleaned since. Prices in Rügen’s main spots, like Binz, Sellin, Göhren, and Prora, are outrageous. The internet was the worst issue: it often didn’t work and was almost unusable during peak times, after 7:00 PM and after 9:00 AM. It seems to affect Mönchgut generally, not just Boddenstraße. I did see a fiber optic cable sticking out of the ground in Lobbe, so perhaps there’s hope there, though it’s quite a distance away.

The garden was lovely, and the place felt spacious without losing its cozy feel. We had a large TV too. The only letdown was Wi-Fi that came and went, though honestly that can be nice on vacation ;)

We felt right at home here. The apartments have excellent amenities, and there’s a small garden with fruit trees that’s completely fenced in.
