The owners are really kind, but the rooms have no air conditioning, which is a problem with summers being so long and hot. There aren’t blackout curtains either, so you wake up early in the morning.

We had a really good time here while visiting the IBA exhibition in Düsseldorf and Anuga exhibition in Cologne. The people were very hospitable, and Monheim am Rhein and nearby villages seem like good places to relax or do business, with several really good restaurants around. It’s a calm, cozy family hotel, with a lovely view toward river Rhein, a nice Bier-garden and good food.

We stayed overnight while in town for a wedding. It’s a cozy, nice place, but keep your expectations for service modest. You can enjoy a small room and the restaurant’s view of Rhein.

We really enjoyed dinner, and there are lots of different meals on offer. The view of river Rhein is fantastic too. We just wished there was a bigger variety of long drinks, since they seem to prefer serving beer.

The staff were friendly and the price was reasonable. It’s a quaint old German country-style place, though a little dated, tucked away in a part of the Rhein that seems to be caught between industrial areas.
