The beer garden is lovely, and the owner’s wife is delightful. She has adorable kids. The husband seemed distant and not very welcoming, though. I debated giving the stay three stars, but went with four and hope they can iron out the kinks and do well. Our double room was roomy and very nice. They leave toiletries, though they felt a bit cheesy. The kitchen only opened last week under the new owners, and they had just received their liquor license a day or two ago, so keep that in mind when reading older reviews. The food wasn’t anything special, and breakfast was lacking. On our first morning there was no staff around, so we had to sort out our own coffee. Check-in and checkout were odd because the place is only open in the evenings. They ask you to check out the night before, but that was only written down and we missed it. We managed both, but it was chaotic.

Everyone was attentive and the service was excellent. The beer garden is nice, with a wide selection of tasty comfort food. My room was basic and small, but clean.

We were out on a rainy Saturday looking for a gas station near Dachau and came across one, along with this restaurant, in the little town of Mossburg. The pub-style dining room has booths for six, and there’s a cozy beer garden too. The food was delicious and fairly priced, and the kitchen was open at 1700. There’s a good-sized gravel parking lot and the restaurant service was friendly. Our vegetarian daughter had plenty of suitably sized dishes to choose from. Seems like a good stop for motorcyclists on tour too. I’d recommend it if you’re in the area.

The staff were so friendly, and the food tasted wonderful.
