Moosburger Hof

I was really impressed with dinner tonight. The service was very good, there was a good menu, and the food was high quality throughout. A must for me, and I’d definitely come back.

The room was at least clean, but that was the main plus. It’s an old hotel, with carpeting that looks like it’s from the 80s, and the Greek pub or restaurant on the first floor made it too noisy. Staff were unfriendly. There was no minibar, and nowhere to make tea or coffee. We paid 70€ for one night and got only one key for two people. For a room like this, I’d put a realistic maximum at 30€-40€. That felt extremely expensive for an old hotel with no service.

I stayed four nights and not once was I asked if I needed fresh towels or anything else. The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful, and rude, which made the place feel uncomfortable, especially for 70€. Breakfast wasn’t included. I asked politely if I could pay extra then and there since I hadn’t selected it in my reservation, and got a very rude no. When I ordered coffee inside and carried it to the outdoor restaurant area, I asked where I could get an ashtray. The waiter said no, they weren’t open yet. I pointed out that I already had my coffee and asked if he could help, and he replied, “You drink coffee, so?” In my opinion, the price was far too high.

The room was nice, clean, and well equipped, and breakfast was good. The hotel sits at a busy intersection, though. Noise from outside meant we had to keep the windows closed, which was a problem at night in hot weather, even if it was okay for one night. Only the Greek owner spoke English. He was helpful, willing, and smiley. The other staff were horrible.
