Bildungshaus Neckarelz

The staff were friendly, and our late arrival worked out smoothly with the key left for us. There was plenty of parking, and the Neckarelz Education Center is in a quiet, secluded spot. The rooms are plain but clean, which was fine, except the mattresses were hard as rocks and we slept poorly. They run lots of workshops and courses, so we’d consider coming back for one, but not with sleep that uncomfortable. Breakfast is €13 per person; we didn’t try it.

We ended up waiting almost an hour in the evening because neither I nor another woman had been given a key. Reception had closed at 2 p.m., and although our request was confirmed through the booking portal, it apparently wasn’t handled internally after we booked at 3. I wouldn’t recommend the place. The rooms feel like a comfortable prison, tiny and badly furnished, and not at all welcoming.

Breakfast had lots of options in buffet style, and the price for what you get is excellent. The room was clean and modern, and check-in was very pleasant. There’s also a vending machine for drinks.

We’ve stayed here twice and would gladly return. The room and bathroom were neat and clean, breakfast was plentiful and good, and the staff were friendly. There’s a spacious, pleasant park area with lots of places to sit, plus a shed where bikes can be stored comfortably. Wi-Fi was available. There wasn’t a TV, but we didn’t really need one.
