Landhotel Ringelsteiner Mühle

The hotel is adorable and the staff were very friendly, but I’d only suggest it for a short stay. At 8:30, the receptionist called to say she was leaving for the night and wouldn’t wait to hand over our keys. Luckily, we were just up the road. The beds were hard, the pillows felt like decorative couch cushions, and the room smelled musty. There were also big clumps of dust under the beds. The card machine wasn't working, so we had to pay cash; fortunately, we had enough.

This review is only about the restaurant. I ordered the cheese gratin and made a point of saying I didn't want broccoli after the waitress asked whether I wanted cheese alone or cheese with broccoli. They brought it with broccoli and tomatoes anyway. The broccoli was overcooked, and the meal wasn't tasty.

I had a great time here. It’s lovely and quiet, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the garden has cozy seating all around. The bathroom is nice, and it’s a great starting point for walks, including to Burg Eltz. The food and drinks are great and cost next to nothing. Yes, the rooms smell like mold and the pillows are useless, but I still really enjoyed the place. Thanks so much!

Breakfast was perfect, the location excellent, and the restaurant service was great. I do have questions about reception, though. The guest information in our room mentioned free bike rental, but nobody at reception seemed to know anything about the bicycle service.
